Laila Majnu movie story: The female lead in the film is named Laila. She is a free spirited girl. Her family is very conservative. The male lead is named as Qais. He is a spoiled brat. He falls head over heels with Laila. But the problem is that their families are fighting over property. This creates property destruction, self-destruction, heart bleeding, and pain.
Laila Majnu movie review: This story is based on the classic Laila Majnu Story in the modern Kashmir. This classic story is translated many times into many stories earlier. Director Sajid Ali has made the story in such a way that the new generation who loves to watch a rom-com will love to watch this film.
At first, the main lead roles Qais and Laila fell in love with each other in a very puppy love manner. But then the circumstances were beyond their control. The story says that they are not destined to be together. This keeps appearing in the background. Even the happy scenes are sort of foreboding to watch. Imtiaz Ali has written the story very carefully keeping in mind the essence of original Laila Majnu being apart. The story has some mysterious sides too.
You will enjoy the movie as the lead pair brings a freshness to the screen. The lead pair also shares a certain raw passion on the screen. This creates the story more interesting as it maintains the effect of love and passion of the original Laila Majnu story. You will surely believe in the story as the performance of the lead roles is very strong. Avinash Tiwary performs very well how his love turns into insanity. Towards the end, the film becomes predictable. But for debutants, it is undoubtedly a very good movie to watch. Throughout the film, Tripti looks glamorous. Her performance creates a great effect to the movie.
In this movie, you will get a sense of ‘Maine Pyar Kiya.’ Many scenes are inspired from the movie MPK. Laila Majnu has a total of 10 songs. But you won’t feel they are too much. They are merged with the scenes very well. The highlight of the film is its music given by Niladri Kumar and Joi Barua. But at the end, it fails a bit as they tried to wrap up the loose ends.
In the movie, the beauty of Kashmir is depicted in a dramatic manner. The beautiful sceneries of Kashmir depicted the love story well. Exotic locals were seen in the movie which was created by cinematographer Sayak Bhattacharya.
Some parts of the movie are unbelievable. But the story has shown the extremes of love. The story does not have any bubble gum romance as it is based on a serious tragedic love story of undying love. Sajid has done a great job with the film. It is seen in the process of storytelling. Sajid is known to make light-hearted movies with hilarious jokes. But with this one, there is no space for jokes. It’s a pure love story with some serious heartaches.
Box Office: Lack of popular stars in the movie caused some effects on the box office performance of the film. The film directed by Sajid Ali has earned a total of Rs 80 Lakh at the box office after two days.
