Kapil Sharma, the known face of Indian entertainment industry has been earning applaudes since many years.
The actor cum comedian who was born in the year 1981 in Amritsar never knew that his fortunes will completely turn between 2013 to 2016. Kapil Sharma had a very simple life. His father Jeetendra Kumar died in the year 2004 at AIIMS, Delhi. Thus, Kapil had a very simple childhood.
Kapil came to the limelight when he won The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in the year 2007. He was also previously seen in Punjabi show Hasde Hasande Ravo. Later he also participated in Sony’s Comedy Circus where he went on to win six seasons of the show. He was also seen hosting the sixth season of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. He was also seen in other comedy show Chhote Miyan. In 2013, Kapil was seen in his own show Comedy Nights with Kapil which was being produced under his own production banner k9 production on Colors.
The show went on to earn huge applauds all throughout the industry. You could see each and every celebrity every week promoting their movie in the show. Even celebs like Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha were also seen at Kapil’ show.
Kapil Sharma also stepped into the Bollywood. His first romantic comedy movie Kis Kisko Pyar Karoon was directed by Abbas Mustan. Kapil Sharma was the lead actor in the movie and four actresses Elli Avram, Manjari Phadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi and Sai Lokur was seen opposite the debutant actor. The movie did a record breaking opening at the box office but sadly got mixed reviews from the critics. His second movie Firangi which released in December, 2017 could not create any magic at the box office neither in the mind of critics. The movie was directed by Rajiev Dhingra which is a historical period drama movie set in the year 1920s.

Kapil Sharma has been a well known celebrity figure. In 2016 Ormax Media rated Kapil Sharma as one of the most popular Indian television personality in April, 2016. Forbes India ranked Kapil Sharma at 11th position in the celebrity 100 list in the year 2016. Kapil Sharma was conferred with CNN – IBN Indian in the year 2013. And as per Economic Times in 2015, Kapil Sharma was ranked third as the most admired Indian personality. Kapil Sharma was nominated as the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan icon by PM Narendra Modi. Kapil Sharma was invited to Rashtrapati Bhavan by President Pranab Mukherjee in the year 2015.
Kapil Sharma : Controversy
Kapil Sharma tried to maintain a distance from the controversy since very long. But of course he for the first time hit the headlines, when he targeted tweeted to PM Modi and wrote that since he is one of the highest tax payer in the country even then he was asked for bribery to set up his office. Later there have been news about his office being constructed on illegal land.
But what nailed Kapil Sharma’s demise was his fight with Sunil Grover. Because of which Ali Asgar, Chandan Prabhakar, Sugandha Mishra quit the show with Sunil Grover and after a while the show ended it’s long and extremely successful innings with Colors.
Kapil Sharma was badly taken by his demise and he couldn’t take it. During this controversy his second movie Firangi released which received quite a dull response at the box office. This even worsened his confidence and post this Kapil Sharma reduced his public appreance to a very great extent.
